General Information for Field Study
Two field study experiences, HTM 2964 and HTM 4964, are offered by the Hospitality & Tourism Management Department. HTM 2964 is designed for students to engage in any supervised work experience within the hospitality and tourism industry. The second field study, HTM 4964, is designed to gain supervisory experience or placement in management training positions. These positions can be a rotational experience or concentrated within one area.
Students are required to take HTM 4964. A prerequisite for HTM 4964 is a significant amount of work experience in the hospitality or tourism industry or HTM 2964.
Our industry partners like Marriott, Red Lobster, Compass, Hilton, Hyatt, Applebee's, Ruby Tuesdays, Damon's Grill and Walt Disney World have all agreed that these service learning hours are some of the most valuable classes you will receive in the HTM field.
